Visible for blocks, flames had engulfed outside merchandise stands at a 2-storey brick grocery store, and fire was extending into both floors and the roof overhang. The inferno was quickly knocked down and the fire extension extinguished, but the store was gutted and two apartments above damaged in the $100,000 incident. Arson is believed to be the cause.
