By the time numerous calls were received for this large housing
complex being built at Markland Dr., 4 of the 3bk units were ablaze
and flames were already traveling through two more in a row of 7 and
had communicated to a similar complex on the exp.3 side. Big lines and
portable monitors were brought to into play as a hydro building, also
on the exp. 3 side, began smoking. Two ladder pipes were also used to
good effect and the blaze was stopped with 7 units destroyed and two
damaged. Overhaul procedures took the rest of the night, damage was
$3.5 million and arson is suspected. © GTMAA Trumpet
