October 11, 2009 - 2nd Alarm - 111 Wellesley St. West
October 11, 2009 - 10:39pm - South Command - "B" Shift
Downtown crews arrived at the rear of the Provincial Legislature at Queen's Park to see smoke and flames rising from the roof. As P314 crew made their way through the interior, A312, A315 and T331 were raised to provide access and observe the conditions. Fortunately the spectacular blaze was confined to machinery and a cooling tower, and knocked down by the pumper crew. Other crews assisted with overhaul and there was no extension inside the building, which was severely damaged in a general alarm fire in 1916. A malfunction was blamed, and damage was $50,000.
