April 20, 2010 - 6:32pm - East Command - "D" Shift
Following several grass fires in the area, this quick moving fire was reducing numerous film sets to ashes in the rear lot of this large film studio used by Sullivan Productions. Access to the area was limited and a large loom-up greeted first-in crews. Building mock ups used in series such as Road to Avonlea and Wind At My Back were destroyed in the $100,000 inferno, which was prevented from extending into the actual studio. At least ten sets were lost, and children playing in the area are suspected to have started the blaze. A total of five lines were deployed in extinguishing the blaze.
