April 29, 2010 - 3rd Alarm - 260 Queen's Quay West
April 29, 2010 - 5:11pm - South Command - "D" Shift
Visible for 50 miles, this rapidly moving inferno engulfed more than half the roof surface of a 31-storey condo as it consumed Astro-turf, plastic planters and patio furniture. P334 crew gained the top level first and proceeded to fend off the 30' flames until more lines were in play. Four streams made quick work of the blaze which also damaged rooftop utility structures, leaving over $500,000 in damage. A couple of top floor tenants were treated on scene for smoke inhalation but extension below the roof was minimal. The cause is unknown, and several hours of overhaul followed.
