August 18, 2010 - 3rd Alarm - 215 Forest Hill Rd.
August 18, 2010 - 10:57am - North Command - "B" Shift
Flames were rolling from the garage and up the front of this 2-storey brick Forest Hill mansion when P311 arrived. The house, which has a walk-out basement, belongs to skater Kurt Browning and his wife. The fire quickly spread into the 2nd floor and then the roof space. As lines were deployed, it was discovered that the area around the large home was electrically charged and the power would have to be cut before an internal attack could commence. The fire in the garage, which was consuming a Porsche parked inside, was knocked down and the roof vented, but it was raging through the roof space and extending across the upper floor. A312 and A135 were used to knock this down but it was another hour before all of the fire was put out. Damage is around $2 million, and apparently a leaf blower was being used to dry the seats of the Porsche after it was left out in the rain.
