TFS crews called for a 3rd alarm upon arrival after finding a 2.5 storey frame house that had exploded fully engulfed in flames. The Arts & Crafts style historic dwelling was being renovated and the top floor and attic were completely alight when crews arrived. Large lines were brought to bear on the exposures on sides B & C and Aerial 426 used their master stream on the inferno. The building soon collapsed into a heap of blazing wood, reducing the exposure problem, but exposure 2 sustained heavy damage. It took several hours to fully extinguish the embers and heavy equipment was brought in. Arson has been established as the cause, and the total loss in the three houses amounts to $1 million.
