March 18, 2010 - 2nd Alarm - 19 Wallington Ave.
March 18, 2010 - 12:22 am - East Command - "B" Shift
Called to what appeared to be an outside fire, East York crews found flames venting from a basement window in this 1.5 brick and frame dwelling. P224 tried getting access past arcing hydro lines but found intensive heat and a compromised floor. Ground ladders were used to access the upper floor and cut off flame spread although there was some extension to the roof. The basement and first floor were gutted with the loss reaching $200,000, and six lines were deployed. The cause is considered suspicious, as the house was unoccupied at the time.
