As west-end companies approached this Swansea high-rise, flames were already venting from the windows of a 15th floor unit. Heavy smoke had inundated the two upper floors of the 16-storey building, trapping several tenants. In spite of the challenges, TFS crews managed to quickly extinguish the intense blaze and locate the resident, a 74-year old man. He was unresponsive and revived outside, but succumbed in hospital to severe burns and smoke inhalation. The suite was gutted and the unit above also damaged; no firm cause was established due to the damage. The loss was $250,000.
