May 29, 2010 - 2nd Alarm - 152 Winchester St.
May 29, 2010 - 9:52am - South Command - "B" Shift
The rear deck and roof area of this 3-storey brick semi was already involved when crews were called to this Cabbagetown location and flames had spread next door as lines were stretched and an aerial raised for access. Although an aggressive attack soon had things in hand, damage to the top floors and roof area of the century old dwelling exceeded $200,000. The cause is believed to be a composter spontaneously igniting in the hot weather.
