October 14, 2010 - 3:25am - South Command - "B" Shift
Beginning at the rear, this fire left heavy damage to a first floor dollar store and extended to an apartment above, also getting into an adjacent restaurant. The toll in the 3-storey brick commercial block exceeds $200,000, and the cause is under investigation. During overhaul several hours later, a company officer was struck by a car on scene and treated in hospital. Thankfully injuries were fairly minor.
