April 21, 2011 - 9:27pm - South Command - "C" Shift
TFS crews arrived to heavy black smoke coming from third floor apartments above the Black Bull Hotel & Tavern on Queen St. West. As flames broke through, firefighters rescued a male in his 50's who was taken to hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. A second male in his 80's was taken to hospital as well suffering from smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control while holding damage to the ground floor tavern to a minimum. The loss was $250,000 and the cause is most likely accidental in nature.
