February 26, 2011 - 11:39pm - West Command - "A" Shift
A well developed fire was found in a top floor suite in this 5-storey brick Weston building and crews forced entry to find a 49-year-old woman and her toddler daughter still inside. They were rushed downstairs where resuscitation efforts began. The woman however, was pronounced at the scene, and the girl later in hospital; both died from burns and smoke inhalation. It took some time to knock down the blaze, which gutted the apartment after spreading from the living room. Damage is $100,000, and the cause is being investigated. © GTMAA Trumpet
