Station 244 crews arrived to a fully involved carport at the side of a Scarborough bungalow and immediately requested a second alarm. Two 38mm lines were laid in off P244 and it looked like the fire had been knocked down, but flames had extended into the roof of the house and began to flare up. Firefighters then opened up the roof and stretched an additional 65mm line to bring things under control. All 11 occupants of the house managed to escape safely.
