March 6, 2011 - Working Fire - 73 Humber College Blvd.
March 6, 2011 - 11:07pm - West Command - "C" Shift
Smoke was pushing from the upper floor of this 2-storey brick and frame rooming house when west-end crews arrived, as fleeing residents reported a man still trapped in his upstairs room. This was well-involved as firefighters pushed inside and rescued the 56-year-old individual who had suffered serious burns and smoke inhalation; he was revived outside but succumbed to his injuries. Two other tenants were treated for burns reportedly received in a rescue attempt, and another was injured by smoke. Damage in the fire was $50,000 - the result of careless cooking. © GTMAA Trumpet
