P343 was first on scene to a 5 storey apartment building, and found heavy smoke coming from a 2nd floor unit. Two lines were stretched to attack the blaze, which had originated in a bedroom. P344 Capt. transmitted a mayday after running low on air while operating on the fire floor, resulting in a third alarm being transmitted. P344 crew managed to escape safely, however several building residents were treated for smoke inhalation.
